Kazakh cosmonauts meet facade construction team from Braunschweig

The National Space Centre under construction in Almaty, Kazakhstan was designed by the Kazakhstan architect Vladimir Pozdnyakov. It was a challenging project for GIP Fassade. The three-dimensional architecture of the building envelope of the National Space Centre in Kazakhstan required a special substructure, which could be installed quickly and would meet all the requirements of the building.

The 2,500 m² ventilated curtain wall was the first international project to be installed using the VECO-E substructure system with no thermal bridges. The facade was made from extremely lightweight TONALITY tile panels. The impressive appearance of the building envelope and successful use of a new construction technique are good omens for the acquisition of further projects in the global market.
